Canadian Cold

This morning I woke up to see there was a light dusting of snow and very cold temperatures! But I must say I love it when the trees become frosted! It's so beautiful!

Since I knew I was going to have to be outside at a few points yesterday, I decided to bundle up in what I think is my "Canadian Style": Puffy warm jacket with some plaid and warm winter boots!!

Jacket: Lululemon
Plaid Shirt: Club Monaco
Shirt: Banana Republic

Going to the Movies

Today, I saw Avatar with my wonderful boyfriend! It was an amazing movie! I recommend everyone to go see it! On my trip to the movies I was able to wear some of my new duds!

I've fallen in love with this jacket from ModCloth! It's very retro yet modern at the same time. My boyfriend's mom bought me this stunning red scarf for Christmas, and I haven't been able to leave the house without it since she gave it to me. Red is a critical color in my wardrobe (and on my nails).

I think this is the perfect outfit for the movies - comfy yet chic. This color combination describes my style perfectly - mostly neutrals with a pop of color!

Jacket: ModCloth
Top: Anthropologie
Jeans: J Brand
Boots: Frye
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (another amazing gift from my super amazing boyfriend)
Necklack: Forever 21

Happy Holidays

Christmas Eve

I was going over to my boyfriend's mom's place for Christmas Eve dinner, so I wanted to wear something cozy but still dressed up. I love heather grey - I feel like it goes with anything and can be worn casually or out for a nice dinner!

Dress: Anthropologie
Tights: Polka Dot Club Monaco
Booties: Arnold Churgin
Necklace: Forever 21 (metal tassel)

Christmas Morning

I have always wanted a pair of silky pajamas, and when I saw these at Victoria Secrets, I knew I had to buy them! The soft pink and cream pin stripe along with the black piping make them look so chic! So, naturally, I had to wear them Christmas morning!

Christmas Dinner
I wanted to wear something cute and comfy - and this is what I came up with! I wanted to throw in some red for the holidays, but most importantly, my skirt had a stretchy waist, which is perfect when you plan to get full on turkey!

I'm in love with this cocktail ring my mom bought me for Christmas! It's so sparkly - which doesn't show very well in the photo!

Because I was helping my mom in the kitchen, I wanted to wear flats to get around faster and safer! I live in my Tory Burch flats - they are a key staple in my closet!

Turtleneck - American Apparel
Skirt - Anthropologie
Tights - American Apparel (I love them they've stood up so well)
Ring - BCBG
Necklace - Forever 21
Shoes - Tory Burch

Coffee with a touch of Lego

New friends we met at Cafe Deville a few weekends ago - Vlad and Kris. Kris is completing his masters in architecture and apparently playing with lego helps??? =P Not that we were complaining. Lego is always fun!

Angela proudly shows off her lego creation! Mit's was unfortunately architecturally unsound (fell apart into 5 pieces!)

Holiday Velvet

Listen Up Gentlemen!!

If there is one thing I think should be a staple in your closet, it’s a classic black velvet blazer.

One can never go wrong having this addition to your wardrobe. Take it from me.. I own two, and I bought them three years ago, but because they are a classic peace I’m able to carry them through my ever revolving wardrobe.

Try wearing it with a crisp dress shirt and a pair of dark washed jeans at night or a plain v neck and light denims during the day. But my favorite time of the year to rock a velvet blazer is the holiday season. With so many holiday parties to go to this blazer comes in very handy. It’s a great way to look chic and sophisticated all in one look.

Happy holidays!!!

In the Desert

Some more pics from our Arizona trip! We took a drive into the dessert and found a great spot to stop and take some pictures. There were cacti, mountains in the background and even the bare skeleton of an animal carcass. We also saw a roadrunner! Running across the road!!! Can we get anymore cliche?

This fun and whimsical Dinosaur necklace is from Anthropologie. This necklace was a fabulous addition to both Niki and Ang’s wardrobe.

Coming from Calgary, Alberta where snow seems never ending, it was a little odd seeing Christmas trees without snow anywhere in sight. However, I must admit that the lit up cacti were really cute!

Hugs, Mit

Lora: Anthropologie Skyfall dress, Arnold Churgin flats, BUI Accessories white hair clip.

Mit: Floral dress from Zara, blazer from BCBG, Frye boots, belt by Wilfred and Betsey Johnson apple necklace.

Dinner in Arizona

For Angela's birthday dinner, we went out to an amazing restaurant in Arizona called Modern Steak.

That night I wore a pale pink dress with a cropped grey cardigan and chunky necklace and my amazing new Charles David grey booties!!

Mit wore her cute new nude dress with a grey sequin cardi, sexy sandals from Paris and her amazingly new 2.55 Chanel bag!!
The birthday girl wore an amazing black & shimmer dress with a chunk collar necklace and hot wrap booties!!
Here is Mit & Ang with Lora wearing an off the shoulder navy dress, fierce bootie sandals and one of her amazing Bui Accessory headbands!
Here is the chandelier in the entrance of the Modern Steak - so beautiful!!
Here's the kitchen looking in to the restaurant - we loved it here as everyone was dressed up for dinner, which is such a rarity!

We believe that this warm lobster salad is the best in the world!!
I couldn't get enough of this flour-less chocolate cake! Yum Yum!
